Hmmm..... I heard a story while I whent to school about the MicroProssesor, but I dont think that happened in 1947 but the story goes as follows:
A japanese company ordered a caluculator, and an american company got the contract. So they decided to build a more complex set of controls that you would really need, and sendt the whole thing to the japanese company, together with the patent and complete control of the calculator.
After some discussion at the American firm... who thought they had given the japanes company to much value for the money, decided to try an by back the patent form the japanese company for 50 000 US dollars. The american firm realised that the calculator in reallyty could be used for far more general perpuses the just for calculating. The american company had just bought the prelude to the micro prosessor.
