What do you mean - from the MSDN forums when you get alerted to a new post in a subscribed thread?

Mine's been working -- though it has been very squirrely lately. I get alerts from posts that happened before I ever joined the thread. Bizarre! I wonder if they had a "blackout" period where no alerts were sent and then they tried to manually - but ham-handedly - set things right.

I had an issue with MSDN's alerts last year. I was receiving those alerts at my work email (not Ms's hotmail) and the alerts would suddenly stop working - just like you describe. This happened numerous times and each time I had lengthy discussions with MS's help services. They would "magically" get it working again and then it would stop again maybe a week later, maybe a few months later. A few times the help associate asked if I had tried setting up a hotmail account through Live. Of course, I hadn't - and I figured he was just doing the product plug. But I finally had enough of the crap and set up a hotmail account (probably shouldn't have had it coming to work anyhow) and all the problems stopped.

So... are you using a Live account for the alerts? If so you might want to consider changing. Or at least contact help services and play the fun game where they see what they can do, then get it working after a few days.

i get alerts on my old msn account which is a live account I suppose..

Switching to new hotmail account wouldnt go that easy.. I'd be glad if MSN messenger allows me signing in with multiple ids at once. Else if some other messenger that can provide alerts in same way live messenger does.. I liked that way of notification..

Yeah - it was a crappy solution offerred to me as well.
